I keep thinking that the folks who have been so vocal and out of joint about the disappearance of ‘indigenous’ people’s way of life and the more primitive/egalitarian/hunter-gatherer type of cultures, might finally start to speak out about the destruction and erasure of their own Western cultures, who are now in danger of being erased by globalism and the elites who have been pillaging and destroying sovereign peoples in both the West and the global south alike under the deception and guise of progress.
And yet, the very same people who would have you believe they care about all cultures, seem remarkably silent about the destruction of their own people’s cultures. The same cultures who have instilled in them, their own sense of appreciation for cultures other their own and the importance of safeguarding all cultures from being disappeared, as possessing value.
It seems tragic that the same people who speak of this value of other cultures, seem to see their own as essentially worthless, or worse.
So many, have been taught, that the only culture that does not contain anything of value is their own. Even when it is fundamentally Western culture that has fought against the erasure of any and all cultures, no matter how small or seemingly irrelevant by whatever the days standards happen to be. And I think, correctly so. But can we not see the value in our own cultures in time to save them from a predator elite class, who value nothing but their own enrichment at expense of anything and everything, and anyone?

Oh Lord @Colorado41. Good way to show you know nada about Indigenous Cultures and what has already been lost (and what is being lost) and making it about yourself. Come whine when you only have 9 speakers of your language left, not when what washed away millions of souls and planet earth in pursuit of greed is changed. ” Even when it is fundamentally Western culture that has fought against the erasure of any and all cultures” what history have you been reading!? I’m gonna go out on a limb and say it’s a white centered one because this statement simply is NOT true as whole.

I wonder if Colorado41 realises s/he sounds precisely like a 1930s communist.
It should be possible to walk and chew gum at the same time. I can value fading cultures (because all cultures fade) whilst treasuring the West as better than any alternative currently out there.
