This post contains the six books written By Frank Herbert and the 2 books by Brian Herbert & Kevin J. Anderson That bring a conclusion to the series. Frank Herbert’s Dune Novels are the best in the series by half a star to a full star but rest of the books are pretty good and worth reading. Frank Herbert’s Dune Novels are Literature and changed Sci-Fi for the better. Brian Herbert & Kevin J. Anderson Dune Novels are just good Sci-Fi novels. I would read Dune though to Chapterhouse:Dune then Prelude to Dune 1-3. Then Legends of Dune 1-3, next read Schools of Dune 1-3. Then read Heroes of Dune 1 & 2 and finish up with Hunters of Dune and Sandworms of Dune. I think reading series in order of publication best in most cases. My opinion is that prequels often contain spoilers that can ruin many surpises in the orginial books. They are best read after reading orginial books in a series

I have an older d/l I got from can’t remember where (perhaps here) and the second book (Dune Messiah) was read by some-one-or-other O’Brian. Horrible. I think the narrator was an artificial voice. Can someone let me know if this book from this d/l set is a real human? Thanks in advance.
