I got about 4-5 books deep. Medbury at some point early in the narrative has the protagonist go on an internal monologue about how people’s sexual preferences shouldn’t effect the way anyone sees them when is buddy makes a slightly off-color joke.
Medbury later in the series goes on to introduce the first presumed queer character in the series, a closeted Chinese military leader, who is a r*pist and ped*file who prays on teen boys. Great story telling.
