  I have all these but the version of Gates of Rome that I have only starts at the end of the 14th chapter and I was never able to find a different version to date. Do you know if your version of Gates of Rome is complete or from the same source as mine. I was thinking of getting it from Audible but if yours is complete then I can use my credit on another book.

  @jsmithers366. Gates of Rome is missing a small part of the prolog (about 15 seconds) and The Pirate Kings is missing about 10 second from the end of part 1 when the 2 part book splits. see Dallis’s included txt file for more info.

  Not sure about bk 7, I never got that far. I will look later.

  I just d/led this and your Gates of Rome is the same length as mine, and when I listened to mine, it only started in Ch14, unless that how it is? My copies are all 128kb/s so maybe they are both from different sources. I need to look closer at them. Might still need to buy them.

  Had another look at Book 5 and both our copies are the exact same time Pt1 is 6hr21mins and Pt2 is 5hrs36mins.

  But yours starts nearly at the beginning with “light touch of energy crawling over your skin like the probing, curious fingers of a pickpocket. Still, even though he’d mentally prepared for it, forewarned, Olivera…

  Mine starts 1.11min before the start of Ch15.

  First few words of my copy are “Rashim puffed his lips and laughed a little nervously…

  So both the same time but mine starts way later than yours, must look into the end of the parts more closely, but not tonight…good night all.

  PS: your copy is 32kb/s and mine is 128kb/s but surely that has nothing to do with it???

  **Book 3:

  Andrew left this comment about book #3:

  “a little comment, when in timeriders 3 they talk about “torches”, which are burning sticks, the audio book changes this into “flashlights” which is NOT the same thing and could confuse USA readers, e.g. how could flashlights burn paper. Maybe the uk to usa translation software went too far here!

  Torches are typically a long branch with a burning top, often doused in oil or some other flammable material. Confusingly torches also (in the UK) refer to a typically battery powered hand held device with a bulb shone in front of you to give light. This device is typically known as a “flashlight” in the USA.

  Although in the USA, they also still refer to “torches” as long sticks with a burning top, often used on patios and the like to give light, and also possibly to provide mosquito repellent effects”

  **Book 5:

  IMO the quality of this rip is bad but it’s good enough that I finished the book. If you need perfection, don’t download this one. It’s not my rip so I can’t fix it. Sorry.

  This book starts in the prolog but a small amount is missing.
