  From what I have read in the past, it was largely the Barbary pirates of North Africa who kidnaped Europeans, and were sold to the Turks and North Africans, so the list of reparation’s grows. Also, many British sailors (about 2000) died from fighting many of the slave traders who refused to stop selling slaves. I think they deserve reparations as well.

  @genebmw “both sides”?! Binary thinking about a subject like slavery is a dead-giveaway of intellectual dishonesty. I assume you get as indignant about books focusing purely upon the American and English slave trade? Of course you do. :/
  POTENTIAL READERS/LISTENERS: If your reaction to this book is to indict or defend the entirety of some contrived group of people, you need to do a self-check of your own biases. Ideas - good or bad - do not align with immutable characteristics or geography and only loosely even within cultures. The idea of human subjugation of other humans is a universal immorality. That fact does not change by comparison to disparate incidents of slavery, and comparisons can only be made as observations without judgements. I think this text makes a very good academic job of just that. Worth the listen, but an even better read where you’ll see the references etc.

  I don’t buy the excuses the authorities are making up for them. Alcohol is prohibited for Muslims & even if they were drunk how come hundreds of Muslim women did not get raped? How come only European women were raped? Because it was not about sex - it was a message to whites.

  At last
  had to dig through 50+ pages of garbage before finding something useful, this whole site is full of garbage since it’s mainstream books & not actual real factual books which are largely censored, banned or attacked.
