This comment isn’t baiting. I’m genuinely curious to know if this book tries to make heroes of these people (as the description sounds like) or if it paints a more realistic portrayal.
I would be interested to know if this book includes and covers in relevant detail how the Comanche practiced torture and abuse the likes of which would make even the harshest sadists among the Nazis armies cringe? And I don’t mean they practiced it on occasion. It was a way of life for them, and every man, woman, and child gleefully practiced it. I have never in all my historical reading ever found a more abhorrent group, and I rightly say they are monsters, not human beings. I would a thousand times wish to be taken prisoner by Nazis for years in the worst concentration camps, than spend an hour in a Comanche tribe.
I also wonder if this book, in its haste to make heroes of this certain tribe, also covers the fact that they were so hated and despised by every other Native American people, the other tribes ACTUALLY JOINED with the US and Mexican armies to wipe them virtually off the planet? Yes, they were so bad they got everyone to put aside their hatred to target them.

Why is it that almost every history book on this site has ridiculous comments from people who clearly haven’t read the book? In almost every case their misconceptions would be cleared up by just reading the book and keeping their damn mouths shut.
