I have been searching for some of these books for a long time so I thought that now that I have them all together in one place I would offer them up to the community as a complete set in my preferred order (of course you can change that part after downloading them).
These files have all been taken from what I considered good sources (audio wise) and converted to M4B files with the following formation.
40kbps mono 32 or 44.1 khz (depending on file length and my mood) High Efficiency, using voice filtering, and optimized for MMX/SSE2.
While some will argue I personally find that this produces a very nice sounding file and helps to keep the overall size in check.
I also have each book as a single file. Some will not like this either but I find that in the iOS Music play it works best for me. This way when I leave the book to listen to something else (either music or part of another book) when I return to the book I do not have to figure out which file I was last in.

While I would love to do that I really cannot. First, they were not all originally in the same format or even the same source (torrents, newsgroups, audible, CDs from the library, MP3, M4A, M4B, WAV, AAX, AA). However, the bigger issue is that I obtained some of these files several years ago and some very recently (like earlier today). So, once I converted them to my preferred format I did not hold onto the original files.
I do hope that you find that you are able to enjoy them in the format they are listed in. While I personally have an iPhone as my primary listening device I do know that many other modern devices will handle the files just fine. :)

I wouldn’t want you to be stuck doing that and while I am not sure of the audio quality loss you will face from this format back to MP3 you should try the following product.

the product is called xrecode II and it will convert between just about any two formats. :)

I’m sorry if anyone had/is having a hard time downloading this. This was my first from scratch torrent and it seems uTorrent and my PIA Proxy connection do not get along very well and uTorrent looses all of its connections after a time. For this reason and after some research I am attempting to seed with qBittorrent now. Right now it appears to be working correctly but I have not yet had it running long enough to know if it will have issues or not.

-to convert about everything…audio and video, you can try “format factory” (my links are in french, but I’m sure you’ll find it with google)
-to cut Mp3 files in smaller files, there’s MP3 Direct cut. Easy to use and really efficient…

However, when I try to listen to 7.1 “A Leaf on the Wind of All Hallows” it seems to have another book/file overlapping it at the beginning. I have tried re-downloading that file individually and it still seems to occur. Is anybody else having this challenge? is there another location for just this book?

Yeah “A Leaf on the Wind of All Hallows” is messed up, its doubled up with 2 narrations, how odd. Everything else seems okay though.

When I listen to book #1 “Outlander”, just past 5 hours 34 minutes the file stops working on my iPod. It plays fine on iTunes, and other files play fine on my iPod…. but this one just *stops* at that point, even though it says the file is 32 hours long. I’ve tried redownloading it but it doesn’t seem to make a difference. Has this happened to anyone else? How did you fix it?

Sorry about book 7.1. :( I put these together for myself and then wanted to share but had not actually gotten to listen to that book yet. Thank you “A Fan” for the link to the working copy of the same book.
“Help Me” I have not had the issue you are referring to on an iPod or any other iOS device. I have seen similar issues year ago with different long files on Android devices but assumed they had been fixed by now.

I also have the 5 hours 34 min problem. I’m using an old ipod nano. It is on all the audiobooks, might be related to their length, I don’t know. Anyone have any ideas?

Can anyone help me? These play just fine in Itunes but when I try to play them on my Ipod I get no audio. The timer runs but there is absolutely no sound.

Please look at the comments above. It seems that some of the iPods and Android phones still don’t support the larger files. There are a couple file splitting applications mentioned above that can help. When I created the files I really created them for me and my iPhone will handle them fine, then I decided to upload them. Good luck but it really isn’t very hard to split the files if you want to give it a try.
They are also high efficiency files and some of the older Apple devices do not support that either so it is possible that is also the issue. ITunes can convert them to other formats for you as well.

I thought that I would add, in case anyone didn’t know, that if you use Itunes you can convert them from M4B to MP3 easily. All you have to do is right click the one you want to convert, and there should be an option to convert it to an MP3. If it isn’t there then go to Preferences > General > Import Settings > Then select MP3 Encoder from the “Import Using” drop down menu. Below that is also a drop down menu to select the quality.
It takes about 20 minuets to convert the bigger books, though I think it also depends on the quality you’ve chosen.

I downloaded these a few years ago and they worked fine but seem to have been lost so I have done it again. But now - even though they are appearing in iTunes and can be played on the desktop - they won’t play (or even appear) on the iPhone. Any help would be appreciated.

I ran into the same problem with the audio stopping at 5:34. I tried using the mp3directcut but it wouldn’t work since they were still in m4b format and itunes as taking FOREVER to convert just one file. I downloaded YAMB and used it instead and it worked fast and now they all work. Yay!

Sorry for those recently having issues. The only issues I saw were mentioned above with the correction (book 7.1 - a corrected book is listed in the comments). I originally built these files when I had an iPhone 5 and they still work on my 7 plus. Many of them are longer than some older phones and software will support (AAC 32 bit limits on the number of “samples”) but I have not had issues on even semi-modern iphones or itunes.

Per the request of the MOD I have added the names of each book to the description of the torrent and modified the Keywords so this torrent should be easier to find and easier to link with other torrents from the same series.
Also, while I have not seeded this torrent in a couple years I have verified that I could download a fresh copy of the files and I will now seed this for a while again. At this time the torrent does still have 7 seeds per my client’s information.
