Seemed to be an interesting cook, but it’s plagued by tiresome sexist descriptions of women. Oh good, yet another competent woman described as an ice queen, as if being professional isn’t something all of her male counterparts aren’t doing as well.

Agree with Candorsmayhem, pointless objectification of women, why do we need to draw attention to their “ample breasts” or “supple curves” especially in a military combat setting. Not as bad as some books, but was totally unnecessary.

Agree with both previous commenters, plot is solid but author definitely needs to work on his portrayal of women. Imagine if the author described the male characters as “throbbing with testosterone” or noted their “bulging crotches” every time they were introduced.
