Unabridged
One of the most important Ukrainian voices throughout the Russian invasion, the author of Death and the Penguin and Grey Bees collects his searing dispatches from the heart of Kyiv.
This journal of the invasion, a collection of Andrey Kurkov’s writings and broadcasts from Kyiv, is a remarkable record of a brilliant writer at the forefront of a twenty-first-century war. Andrey Kurkov has been a consistent satirical commentator on his adopted country of Ukraine. His most recent work, Grey Bees, is a dark foreshadowing of the devastation in the eastern part of Ukraine in which only two villagers remain in a village bombed to smithereens. The author has lived in Kyiv and in the remote countryside of Ukraine throughout the Russian invasion. He has also been able to fly to European capitals where he has been working to raise money for charities and to address crowded halls. Kurkov has been asked to write for every English newspaper, as also to be interviewed all over Europe. He has become an important voice for his people.
Kurkov sees every video and every posted message, and he spends the sleepless nights of continuous bombardment of his city delivering the truth about this invasion to the world.

The majority Civilians killed in the Donbas were slaughtered by the Russia forces. Include the downing of Civilian airline filled with Citizen of other countries
Wait till Putin finds out it was Russians, he should invade himself

@itry
“Even” this site?
I think you have much disappointment ahead of you.

Thanks for the upload.I found ‘Death and the Penguin’a struggle to get through. This should be better.
@WMDs: ‘The majority Civilians killed in the Donbas were slaughtered by the Russia forces’.
That statement could do with some clarification. Could you cite your source for it?
There’s no doubt that more Ukrainians have been killed by Russian forces than vice versa, but I would question your assertion that Russia has killed more civilians than the Kiev regime. This is not a ‘Shock and Awe’ conflict. If it were, it would have been over in a month.
Even so, I would welcome proof to the contrary, and be willing to change my mind if it’s credible and not just propaganda. Thank you in advance for providing it. If you don’t, its just an empty claim.
@itry: This is a book site. You can expect readers to have diverse opinions on diverse subjects.Witness the variety of literature available.
The intolerance alternative views encounter is more indicative of their critics’ lack of reading, ideological bias and reluctance to countenance any opinion at odds with the ones they have pre-formed.
‘Vatniks’ is an apt example of attempting to demean by use of a pejorative. It’s a poor substitute for argument.

Propaganda trash. Kiev gov’t is run by actual Nazis. Russia may not always be on the right side of things, but in this case they are.

The fascist imperialist Putin regime does indeed continue to cultivate its homegrown nazis. Many of them are obsessively active online, as we can see.
Good 1, Gooms.
